Story
As soon as Shani, the son of the Sun, was born, the deities and the demons all became fearful. Brahma asked Surya to restrain Shani. Surya said that my son is impossible for me. When he looked at my feet while playing, he got burnt. Hearing this, Brahma and Vishnu were horrified. Went to Mahadev. Shani appeared there on the remembrance of Mahadev, who was adhodrishti and vakrang. Mahadev told Shani not to trouble the world. Shani prayed for the best place. Mahadev asked Shani to give auspicious, inauspicious and indifferent results according to his birth chart. Mahadev gave a boon to Shani that his power would be maximum and humans would get desired, rare fruits by his grace. As per the order of Mahadev, Shani worshiped the Linga situated in Mahakal forest and merged in it. Shani said that those who will see the immovable Ishwar Linga worshiped by me, they will not get pain from me. When I am pleased, no planet, vampire, yaksha, demon will be able to create any disturbance.
